I just purchased a Multimatic 215 welder. I plan on making my own cart, and saw online what I think to be a verily slick design. I’ll attach an image below. The cart is in the shape of a dolly and the welder sits vertically. When in use there is a kick stand that folds out and the dolly leads over adding more stability. My question is if it’s ok to keep your welder in that positions, assuming is attached correctly. Thanks.

Millers are built like tanks.
I don't think anything is going to fall off in any orientation.
My first concern would be the fans sucking dust from the floor into the machine although the ducting on them is pretty dust-proof as well.
Second concern would be dropping an earth clamp or something on the face of it and smashing the screen/buttons off.
There is also some extra strain on the cables, again, I think the sockets in the millers would be fine but you might be trimming the cables back a bit more often than normal.

Understood, main concern is it sucking in dust being that close to the floor. I’m attaching another photo of it in welding position, it’s a little further away from the floor. Thanks!

Upright in the first photo makes sense, pretty compact, easy to manoeuvre in a tight space, probably easier to get up a ramp and small footprint for storage.
I can't see any advantage to the position in the 2nd photo.

You have to faff about folding the support down.
Doesn't look like you could easily drag it around easily?

Yea, I get that.
I just don't think it looks as usable as a normal trolley in that position.
I agree, seems pretty stable, I guess the other possible advantage would be getting the air vent a little further away from the floor?

its ugly , looks like I would spill or drop something on the control panel , too low to be practical , if you lift the welder another foot or two so its a handy height stability would be the issue ,,, 95% of welding trolleys fall into two styles , either a tea trolley style or the gas trolley style ,,, thats not by mistake ,,, I just done see the advantages of this idea .

I can't see a form of locking system for the leg so if non available a "not so gentle" knock would possibly cause it to end up in the prone position .
Also looking at the narrow wheelbase and a highish C of G it could be prone to being knocked over .

If it is to be used outside at all the IP rating it has would probably no longer apply.
