I think it would be worthwhile to get a pattern made of the 1911 Bowden Wire Co. cast alloy steering wheel before I get a wood rim fitted, just in case the welding does not hold up to use! it is around 14" dia and dished, I was thinking that it could be scanned and then enlarged by 10-12% to allow for shrinkage and then 3D printed to use as a foundry pattern if I ever need another. is that likely to be possible, expensive, waste of time? My wheel is shown on the left, held together with mole grips!
