Its a cap this time.

I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. I was able to fire up fusion and knock up a quick cap. I even stumbled across the fillet tool to dome the head.

I have made a small cap but I need to add 4 sticks (cant think what else to call them. lol) on the side, equidistant round the side.
Can anyone suggest what the process is please?

Assuming what you have is something like this:

Create a new sketch on the underside of the top.
'Project' the OD of the central spigot into the sketch.
Sketch the profile of one 'rib', attaching it to the OD of the spigot. Finish sketch
Extrude rib to desired height (& chamfer end if desired).
Create a circular pattern of 'Features' and select the rib (and chamfer if included). Select the centre of the part as the axis, and set how many you want.

Like this:

(I've tried to choose all the commands from menus - in reality, I use P for project; L for line, D for dimension, etc.)

Yeah I get that. Lol but they are really ribs to allow installation . The ribs crush as opposed to a dead sized rod of plastic.

On something like that the circle pattern would be your friend.

Draw what you want on one axis then make it copied x qty

So instead of a solid rectangle as the demonstration (the demo is only showing you how to create four somethings projecting - the shape of the something is up to you), use a different shape, for example a letter S, that has some inbuilt flex.

Ok guys had a few emergencies but I will be damned if I am getting beaten now. I have switched priorities now.

I need to get this sewing machine running and I thought I was purchasing 1 tensioner unit but I got 10. It just means I can play with one or two.

Anyway after all your help I got the cap finished and started on what I call a top hat. Still a couple of actions I cant fathom as instead of cutting a hole I proactively created an extra circle in the sketch. I cant extrude that though for some reason.

Still I have ended up with a circle with a rim. The rim is to stop it going in to far. plus spacing the tensioner as the origional would sit.

However despite creating a circle 17.8mm and an inside one of 17.2 when I extrdue it it all looks perfect BUT when slicing all the walls disappear.

I have uploaded it as a Fusion file so the experts can laugh at me. and a stepfile as iothers seem to like those.

I am at a loss as to why it wont slice as it is in fusion.

Two things:

1) You've got a zero thickness area between the body and the flange:

2) You've created the flange as a new body, rather than something joined to the original:

Edit your 2nd extrude (as per the screen grab above) and add the wall section to the profiles to be extruded, and change the operation type to 'Join':

See if that works

I tried and failed. Spent a couple of hours trying but it just did not do what was needed,. That said I went back to the start and back to basics.

Created just 2 circles one 17,8 and another 17.2. Extruded the outer circle and cut a hole using the other circle.. Great I thought as its now a simple tube. BUT when I try to slice it in Orca slicer its wont do it.

Must.be I guess.. I will double check what it might be.

That is what I thought it might be. BUT you sliced it fine.

No, just used my default settings. You could try modifying the part so that it has a few mm wall, just to test if it works. Might flush out the issue.

Yeah but it slices for you. The Orca forum a guy suggested it's not flat on the bed.
