Missus hates these tiles so having to cover them up...there's what I thought was the previous owners attempt at a decorative strip inlay into the vinyl tiles but on getting close up there's what look like metal wire track lines running along the middle of the strip.
Are they just decorative..some kind of anti-slip strip?
Never seen it before,wondering if anyone can shed some light?

Looks like a very worn down brush strip that usually gets fitted to door frames to me...probably wrong, but the last council house i lived in, granted was over 10 years ago, had them on every door and looked very similar.
