Cheap generator repair

I've seen lots of these different badged sets - and while you see the odd "Wednesday" one that defies the odds & keeps going, the unfortunate reality is that they are dismal tat - ok if you want to prop the workshop door open with it, but lottery odds as a functional genset

I've got a older China one at work says 3000 on the sticker if you look close rated at 2200w

But can't fault that one must been better build as not used for ages and seams to start quite well

That's the difference between Max output loading and Rated continuous operation loading...

ET... I cant read whats under the 220v sockets, picture angle isn't clear enough.......but 1000w per socket makes sense.

Have a good look at the first picture. The outlets are not in view on that one, but the max 1000W is directly below them.

Thanks for all the replies guys, "boat anchor" wins hands down..lol.
I think the kettle is only 2.7kw. Realistically, the generator is only fit for the scrap heap, but because the engine and everything else is brand new and would power a few lights and smaller appliances (maybe) it's a shame to dump it.
To top it off, I borrowed it from my mate and I replaced it with a hopefully better chinesium FF Group generator.
I did have a quick look on some Chinese sites but I need to buy multiple amounts.

Unfortunately I didn't see that when I picked it up. It was in the middle of storm Eowyn in January, we had no power for 5 days

Have a good look at the first picture. The outlets are not in view on that one, but the max 1000W is directly below them.

If you're dead keen then as has been mentioned before, then "Generator Guru" is worth a shout (run by the fantastically monikered Styles Beagley iirc). He specialises in parts for Chinese portable gensets & seems to be well versed in them.
If it was just a popped AVR then I'd say worth a go - but if a winding has gone I think it might be curtains.

It's a shame that no basic replacement parts are available.
I can easily re weld the mounts but it's the windings that is the problem
