Joint is still the right way - there are rigid joints.i dont want it to move.... just align then combine
thats far easier than how i was doing itThere is an align function in fusion, works exactly like you describe, you can align on face, line, point,...
It can align complete components, singular bodies,... quite straightforward once you get the hang of it.
It's under 'modify' menu.

On top of that if you 'pin' one of the bodies or components it actually locks the whole 'Rigid group' in place, otherwise you might accidentally move the entire rigid group. Have had it before where i accidentally moved a component or a group slightly without noticing till much further in the drawing, kinda ruins your day :-) .If you're using 'Align' to position the component, it can still be moved by subsequent actions (intentionally or otherwise). To stop that, you can make the parts you aligned into a 'Rigid Group' (under the 'Assemble' menu). You can include multiple parts / components in the same Rigid Group (which you can't with Joints).
i have only learnt for the 3d printer..... i have come a very long way with f360, and sometimes look at parts that i have printed, and realise what a dog of a job i did with the CAD to what i would do now, both in terms of how i went about drawing it, and what would be best for the printerSometimes I think I should learn CAD, then I see stuff like this and continue to be happy to pay others to do it for me
