Record vice identification

Hi I am trying to identify a record vice from memory. It was big like jaws 8 inches wide and stood 12 inches tall. It had an interesting way of mounting it. It had a round base to it with a threaded hole in the middle and a raised square bar across the bottom like a key bar but cast into it. Any ideas what model it was. Or how it was supposed to be mounted.

Could be Record, Irwin or Swindens. They all could come with swivel mounts, although 8" is a bit of a large beast.

"From memory" suggests photos aint available.
I'd suggest finding a post from Cwazywabbit and lookin through the catalogues on dropbox linked from his sigline.
It's what I do when I don't recognise a vice. Big thanks to him for making the info available.

In my signature is a link to dropbox, in there you'll find scans of quite a few vice catalogues, have a look through them see if you spot it..... or something similar. The older catalogues might be a good place to start.
