sorry to hi-jack but noticed you guys were talking cortina's.
I'm nearly done doing the bits I want to on my 106, next inline is a mk2 1600E cortina...havn't had time or space to strip it out yet but thats all in the pipe line. Its a full on resto job unlike my daily drive 106 so will also be putting up progress pics on my website when I finally make a start. Its my dads really but he hasnt had time or interest yet to get started. Also considering a 2.0 zetec on twin 45's...we'll be changing a lot of stuff over as my dads not a purist, so steering box will go for a rack, brakes will have a servo and bigger M/C added with uprated front calipers e.t.c. e.t.c. the list is endless!

A fiver for some steel, a few hours and I now have a manifold to fit, much cheaper than twin 45's. TBH bike carbs are better than Webers, they don't go out of adjusment so quickly, they have variable chokes, use less fuel and unless you buy new Webers, any pair you're likely to find will need at the very least a rebuild.

Both those cars sound like brilliant projects! There was a silver 1600E in a breakers near me with no engine or gearbox but sound body. It would have been ideal for a 2.0ltr Zetec. However, lack of money, space and already having 2 projects too many meant I had to let it go. I did advertise its existence on the net but despite lots of interest and encouragement there were no takers.
