does anyone know where i can get gas bottles for mig

i might have to use big bottles now as i put a diposable argon/co2 on yesterday used it today and now empty, so i think 4 the amount of welding i do it best to go big bottles. does anyone know where i can buy gas bottles from and where to get refilled also what sort of prices in hampshire england

You would have to be doing a fair amount of welding to use a whole bottle in a day. Did you leave it connected to the welder overnight? If I leave the reg connected on my Clarke 150 then it will empty a disposable bottle overnight (yes even with the reg in the 0 position). Obviously the seals/valve in the welder aren't perfect and "off" on the regulator isn't really off. I can't detect the leak anywhere so I just unscrew the reg from the bottle enough to let it re-seal itself when I've finished for the day.

A disposable bottle of argon/CO2 will last only 5-6 minutes of continuous welding, although the point about disconnecting the regulator is a valid one.

I am a little confused did Ibrooks mean a large bottle or the disposable one as BillJ said that a disposable would only last 5 to 6 minutes. 5.6 min is not long in my book.

well if you set your flow of gas at 10 litres per minute and a disposable bottle has 50 litres , it will only last 5 minutes , I think thats an odvious assumption to make !
