Brass brushes from Amazon?

I need to clean up some threads on my bike fuel tank before I try and undo them. I've been advised to use a brass brush before penetrating oil (It's an exposed area)
I'd LIKE to do this soon, so I'm thinking Amazon Prime (Next day delivery) tools would fit the time requirement, but has anyone experience of any brass brushes (Ideally 6mm for die grinder, but could be drill driven) that won't fall apart at first use?

brass wont last long also look at fine steel wire brush wheels...no need for crazy pressure...
Can u get a die nut in/on.....the sort that looks like a nut.....it'll do the donkey work...

You'll probably find most cheap brass brushes are just brass plated steel

Thanks - I woke this morning wondering exactly the same thing- space is tight but they are 5 or 6mm threads- I wonder if a nut spinner type die nut exists.

If you search for 'die nut', all you get is a standard one which has three gullets and a relatively huge hexagon for its diameter.

Look within automotive tool suppliers (Snap On, Gedore, etc.) and you would find thread cleaning nuts whose a/f is closer to the standard for their diameter. M5 ones could be difficult to find.

Most wire brushes are not rated for the 20k rpm of a die grinder. Most are rated for maybe 5k rpm.

Fit a normal one in a die grinder and you will look like a hedgehog!

There are high speed ones but they are not cheap!

When I started on my tig welding journey I bought, as consumables, a fair few "stainless steel" mini hand brushes. Quite a few sellers sent me plated steel ones, but one or two were genuine stainless bristles. These suppliers are just sellers, not makers.

In a pinch, just slit an ordinary nut with a hacksaw and run it up and down the threads. If it's tight, you can open it a tad.

Takes a lot more time and a gentle approach than a proper die as the guff all has to come out of the one slot, but quicker than going somewhere to get a die or waiting for the post.
