What type of roller sleeve do I need for rolling GRP top coat?

I'm reading that I need a resin specific sleeve for my paint roller when doing a GRP top coat. Any recommendations? Has anyone tried with a regular type of roller? I was thinking of getting the cheapest sleeve I could find seeing as it won't be reused.

You need to use a solvent resistant sleeve, otherwise the pile pulls out of the roller and stays in your paint. Or with a foam roller it will swell up, go floppy and fall off the core.

Used to be easy to find suitable rollers, just buy ones for gloss paint.

But with a lot of paint being water based it is hard to find decent rollers. I have bought ones for oil based paint and they have failed. Whatever glue they use now isn't as resistant to solvents.

I have some rollers that work and I'll get the name of them for you.

Not these ones, one of these left hairs on a bathroom door I was painting. Had to quickly pick them out and finish the painting with a brush.

These ones are ok. Been tested with xylene based paint and they worked perfectly.

I think the Purdy mohair ones are solvent resistant but a bit expensive for throwing away.

How long exactly does a regular roller sleeve last before it starts to fall apart? I've got an area of 15m2 to do, do you think a £2 sleeve would last long enough to to complete the job?

That whole box of 10 rollers was only around £10.

Cheers. 4" is a bit small for an area of that size, but i've found some 9" sleeves that are meant for grp.
