ARE YOU SURE IT'S 10 YEARS?
Sorry for the caps, but mostly it's 5 years, and if you leave it too long it eats core plugs etc..

POSITIVE - that's why I put ten years, not eight, not five, not three like I seem to recall the old glycol stuff used to suggest.

slightly off topic... I thought the red stuff was good for aluminium where the blue stuff wasn't as good?

water chiller on a machine at work... I put the red stuff in... have I goofed?

there's copper and aluminium and stainless in the system that I know of... it was running pure water and full of corrosion when I got it, cleaned it out the best I could and refilled with some red antifreeze in

flow rate is down, I assumed I'd missed some corrosion or something, I've been trying to decide what to run in it to try and flush it out.... :-o

I suspect you might have - find the manual and have a read.

Don't want to hijack the thread , but it seems to be the sensible place to ask what type anti freeze I should be using on a land rover fitted with an old cast iron Perkins and a aftermarket ally radiator. I've always kept plenty of blue ethylene glycol in it, but at 5-6 years old the radiator is starting to weep for no apparent reason. Just wondering if the glycol is eating it?

Manual doesn't mention what to use :-(

And company who made the machine are terrible to deal with :-(

Ill probably run some white vinegar through it to clean it out then swap to blue antifreeze

Go to local dealer. Purchase ONE litre of antifreeze from the parts department.

Take to local motor factors, see what they got

G12++ can be mixed with any other coolant as far as I am aware. If in doubt, that would be my go to.
