They also wanted rid of:

I will clean up the cabinets for use, heavy made with steel roller drawers.

just my kinda Christmas presents....
Done the shed clearance a few times with some very pleasant results....

I help a recent widow with her shed experience.....she had no idea what was there....
Mostly gen WW2 Jeep spares still in grease proof paper.....
I told her their worth, she practically gave me his hand tools n and few other bits....
I find I cant rip a widow off.....it's always a diff time.....
when my time comes my other 1/2 know the worth of everything.....
were just about to do a inventry and a coded value placed on the machines etc...

Interesting. A mate of mine has some similar drawer cabinets, and has mentioned that there is something on the back that talks about Buckingham Palace and whether it signifies that they were perhaps used there. I wonder if he has the same as this, which presumably means that the factory was on a road of that name, rather than the actual palace.

Eddie liked his cars and yacht, he ran an eclectic mix: Aston Martin DB2, Panhard Dyna Z, Jaguar Mk 10 and mk1 Range Rover, could be off anything!

I had a considerable fallout with a friend after him and his mates went to look at a 101 “abandoned in the back of a garage” after an old boy had died, his Mrs was fretting about selling it. He rang me when they got back to say not only had they bought it, they put a fresh battery and some fuel in and drove it home, oh and it has the nokken belly winch (rare!)

How much did him and his mates pay? Bearing in mind a nokken on its own is 2500……..£1500 quid. And he was laughing about it. The last conversation we ever had

I got one like those when a friend of mine was having a clear out. It was empty and is now under the bench in the shed. Heavy little thing for a four drawer unit. Are they gas mask filters ?

This is a project we did using a couple of art metal London cabinets as bedside cabinets, with Vono bakelite castors.
My friend has restored a few sets too.
Art metal was an American company making great steel office furniture, art metal London was a UK branch selling their stuff.

I've always been . . . not impressed, but something . . in the USA - worked all over the place from California, via Texas, Ohio, NY, Illinois, big companies, small companies, bit international defence companies . . and the same metal desks, cabinets, partitions seem to be everywhere. I don't know if one company somehow supplied everywhere I went, or many companies worked to the same pattern.

Maybe there's a federal standard?

And I walk into our offices in the UK - and not many desks are the same - all shapes, sizes, arrangements.
