I started a thread in the intros section and posted a few pics of my first attempts. Not going brilliantly but I'm getting there. A few pics:

Anyway, when I got the welder off my dad (who'd not used it for years) he'd used it with a large bottle hired from BOC. I was going to buy some small disposable bottle like these
The gas hose fitted to the welder was this size and the slim pipe from the welder was plugged into where the arrow points:
I removed the slim pipe from here in order to fit it to the gas regulator as shown:
However, I'm losing gas now and have emptied 2 of these bottles in as many days. I think the seal between the slim pipe and the regulator isn't gas tight so gas is leaking past it. It's not in particularly good shape as you can see:
If anyone can offer advice on how best to solve this I'd be grateful. I've looked at my usual supplier and can't find any replacement connectors like this. What's the best way to seal this and can you get new connectors?
