More fun than enough, that is....
Made a couple of BSA Gold Star breathe springs today from piano wire, which are 'sort-of' alright, but a considerable exercise in winging it.
Annealed the wire, wound the springs after a fashion, and tweaked them into shape.
Then hardened the things with an oil quench, and flamed the oil off to temper them.
Not under any great load, and worth a go, as they look a lot nicer than the ones currently commercially available......
