EVRI lying again

So I ordered some IPA from eBay. A top up 5l after running out of the last lot. The delivery slot kept changing, getting pushed back until it ended up being an hour ago.

"An attempt was made" they say but I was home and have 24hr CCTV at the front door. No attempt was made. I look at the tracking history and they kept changing the time which makes me suspicious anyway and then to cap it off, present me with "evidence" of an attempted delivery:

Not the first time I seen this type of fraudulent behaviour but it's really annoying to have the blame put on me when they are obviously lying.

The problem with evri is the end delivery drivers are self employed and get penalised for parcles not delivered on time.
So if they are running too late to get to you (or just decide to take the day off) they have to scan a failed delivery attempt.
They won't have been anywhere near your house...

dpd rocked up to my fathers house the other day, got out the van, scanned his box, took a photo of the house and drove off...he complained and sent the cctv footage and got a response saying the driver had attempted and no one was home...how would the driver know? he didnt take more than 3 steps from his van.

Had exactly this twice with Evri in the last couple of months, both times got delivered after a complaint to the ebay seller.

I was in the house when Evri updated my Temu parcel tracking to delivered and showed a picture of it in front of our front door. I was on the computer and had not heard a knock so I went to look if it had been pushed through the letterbox but there was nothing there. Later my wife looked in the box where the milk is delivered and there was the parcel.

My local Evri delivery driver is a young woman, always smiling, she knows my situation so knocks and waits till i get to the door, luck of the draw as to who you get i spose

My local delivery driver is a young woman too. She is great and deliveries always go well. I think she is having a day off today. Got a message 'Your courier has had an issue with getting to the delivery address. If you have any delivery instructions you think might help, please get in touch'. They had no problem dumping the second parcel of the pair on the doorstep and running away before I could get to the door.

The Internet bots you have to speak to are annoying. Supplier has bots too but their bots at least take a message and hopefully they'll get on top of it. Seemed a bit much for near 30kg of brake discs to be packaged in a single cardboard box and I think I know what has happened.

I recently ordered some socks online - delivery options were Evri (cheap) or Royal Mail (nearly twice the price) I chose Evri (in spite of their reputation) reasoning I'm not in that much of a rush and started tracking my order. Within 48 hours my order had been processed, shipped to Evri, and was sitting in their warehouse waiting for delivery. Eight days later I finally grew bored of waiting and fired off an email to the senders. Multiple apologies from the sellers (and a switch to a parcel collection point) and 24 hours later I had my socks. The parcel collection point is only about 200 yards away, and I'm assuming they get daily collections/deliveries.

Where we have moved our Workshop, it seems too much trouble for Evri and Royal Mail.

DPD, FedEx, UPS don't seem to have an issue.

Royal Mail are worst on Saturdays, never see them.

I think a lot depends on the individual, the local EVRI delivery person to me drives into the driveway, if I’m not home he’ll open the storm door and leave the package behind it, as do Royal Mail, the worst for me has been Fed Ex, lied about an attempted delivery then I had to do a 70 mile round trip to Glasgow to pick a parcel up, totally refused another attempt despite both my wife and I being at home for the first delivery.

Waiting for a creosote delivery via APC. Got messages they tried Thursday and Friday but nobody was in. Odd that people were in both days!

I reckon because it's heavy they simply couldn't be bothered and did a drive by.

My wife has had a delivery from Evri this evening, the notification said delivered to your outhouse building & a photo. Trouble was it wasn’t our outbuilding, it was left outside a garage up the road. Luckily nobody had nicked it.

I also have a regular local lady evri driver, she's excellent and reliable never had an issue, until the one time she was off for a day, and some other scrote did her run..that's the one that 'went missing'
as others have said, it's the luck of the draw who you get as your area delivery agent.

My local Evri is a guy who I would guess is over normal retirement age, never had any problems and always very pleasant to chat to

Our local delivery firm( who deliver for DPD and evri) are spot on, it’s what happens before it gets here that’s the issue. I bought an item In June. The shop mucked about, it got posted on two day delivery. It went from Edinburgh to Inverness to Glasgow and back to Edinburgh then it came over here and got delivered the day it arrived at the local depot. It had nine days of travel ! Glad I wasn’t desperate for it

Certainly there's much scope for stuff to go wrong while the item's rattling around in evri's system, however good the local deliv driver is.
If I was sending something I'd never use evri in a million years. seems like ebay are trying to bully sellers into using evri at the mo.

We live rurally, most of the delivery companies deliver on time …. Except EVRI.

The other day we were driving through nearby lanes and spotted a van with its contents spread all over the grass verge.
We initially thought it was fly tippers so stopped.

It turned out to be an EVRI driver that had only received 2 days training and was tasked with delivering 240 parcels that day……..Needless to say an impossible task.

Fortunately for us, our parcel was a unique shape and I spotted it lying nearby.
The driver thought we were doing her a favour by taking it, but in actual fact she was doing us one as we may of had another missed delivery.

You couldn't do that with DPD, mrs Robo was expecting a delivery and as she was driving up the road she spotted the DPD van so she stopped asked for her parcel to save him a delivery, he couldn't hand it over as his PDA had a set sequence of deliveries and there were 3 to do before hers, scanning her parcel just bought up a sequence error.

Evri are also using location settings for where they drop off parcels now.
