Your lot cleared whole islands of invasive species IIRC to help native species IIRC, successfully too.

There's a problem with hedgehogs predating on ground nesting bird eggs where I am, the elephant in the room is how much damage pet and feral cats do. The hedgehogs are relocated, live, at great faff and expense. The cats are ignored. And no-one cares what happens to the rats.

My cat has a catch and release program with the baby rabbits near my house. Rabbits are also an invasive species out here. She catches them outside and lets them go alive indoors.

Mine mainly do rodents, though have had the odd bat too and lizards in the summer. No beavers... .yet.

Our dog caught a baby rabbit when he was about 6 months old, he just stood there holding it not knowing what to do next, I told him to drop it which he did, the rabbit had a bit of a breather then legged it.

Well Kirsty brought in her first catch this morning at 6:30, a large vole, Mrs Rannsachair and I had great fun chasing it round the bedroom. I managed to catch it alive and free it to Kirsty 's disgust.

I hope he was wearing safety glasses at the time, could have easily lost an eye.

That's the squirrel. He's buried down the end of the garden now.

No, almost fully grown, we did wonder if it was sick or injured, though Rory is a wee tank, weighs 6Kg.
