It seems that pure anthracite is available again to buy this year. Its been such a long time since I have run anthracite in the Rayburn that I cant really remember how it compares to the re-manufactured stuff that I have been using the last few years.
Does anyone have any experience of running them side by side in a device like a Rayburn? The anthracite is slightly more expensive than a manufactured fuel that I have settled on and found perfectly adequate, but the anthracite on sale is Welsh and hasnt been manufactured/mined in the US or somewhere else and shipped around the world. So less 'coal miles' and supporting something in the UK if I buy the anthracite, but how will it compare?
(for context, the manufactured stuff varies a lot - i bought a ton of a cheaper manufactured fuel last year and it didnt last as long as the slightly more expensive one I have been using - compared them side by side). I may just do this with a ton of anthracite this year and see but thought i would ask the question.
