Will the lathe tool just unscrew it as soon as it touches or will the holding thingy be split to exert some clamping force?
Thats what I was thinking, he will have to run the lathe in reverse with upside down tooling.

but I pretty much copied that video with some experimenting and ended up with this, the rounded shape on the head side threaded in the easiest
if I take my 30° insert holder and set it up perpendicular I could probably plunge to part and chamfer the thread in one go but otherwise I'm fine with flat hence parting and reforming via unscrewing since once the bolt is in its getting thread locker applied, I just need a length of thread that won't be sticking out the back catching on clothes.
