Cheap online 3D number plate suppliers?

Anyone know of reasonably priced mail order 3D number plates please? I had ordered a set from ebay about 6 months back and no issues. But now all the ebay listing's are asking to send copies of driving licence etc.

Not that keen on sending that info to a company I have no idea about.

I guess if there are no online "show" plate vendors left I may have to go locally. Nothing untoward of course its for my own car and I have the required docs.

I get my plates from Amazon sellers. Although they might ask for driving licence etc in the listing I've never had to send such information !

Yes fair point, maybe they had to put that in the listing. So I went ahead and ordered a pair on ebay and added a note that whilst they are to be road legal spec my purpose is for show plates.

Its a new reg no I bought for my classic S600 Merc which has S600 and my initials on the plate. Was a bargain at £158 +fees so would have been rude not to get the plate for the car

I would never have a private plate. The way I drive one in Arabic or Chinese would be better

I have a couple of them and yes you are a bit more conscious of your driving habits around town as a result!

I regret not buying one I used to pass when walking to the pub. It was on a Fiesta that was clearly clinging onto an MOT like a one-armed man with itchy ******** clinging to a cliff face over a 1000ft drop. The reg number was EAT 514T - at a glance your mind re-arranged it into a common phrase (I often wondered if EAT 541T was actually issued).

The less digits the more expensive the plate. That one 33RU could be worth £25k+ nowadays

Update - the ebay number plates were delivered today and no questions asked which is good.

Obviously I am a genuine case of buying plates for my car.

But it does also fly in the face of recent news stories that ebay sellers are still sending plates with no checks. But then, who ensures data protection of consumers as a result?
