Disclaimer: not all German cars are made in Germany, most will have been modified to some extent and most of the issues will be driver induced....
still mildly entertaining though!
Fair enough but at least with a German car you can release 12 year old bolts without them snapping when it comes to maintenance.
Unlike an Italian car.
As the owner of a 208,000 34yr old Italian car used in all weathers, mostly stored outside, I've only got one set of data on that - but it disagrees with part of your statementFair enough but at least with a German car you can release 12 year old bolts without them snapping when it comes to maintenance.

A mate of a mate sort of thing - crashed, killed his mate in the passenger seat. Stepped in front of a HGV on local bypass a year later . . .Absolute madness from ill prepared, inexperienced loon wannabees. I'm amazed there are at most 12 fatalities a year on these public days![]()
Getting towed off €300 euros min could be €600
Hit a barrier €1500 euros min (could be as much as €6000)
If you need safety car - that is so much per 30mins (€100?)
Hit another car with German numberplates on it - they will want to claim on your insurance
Under German law - this is not a race track - it is a one way public toll road
If your accident closes the track you get billed - €1350 per hour
Costs of getting it wrong on the track - are expensive .
Then you still gotta get you dead/blown up/crashed car home and repaired afterwards.

If the Nurburg is on your bucket list of things to do and you not made of money - book a passenger seat in a ring taxi...

Ok maybe I should have said, a modern Fiat, not an older LanciaAs the owner of a 208,000 34yr old Italian car used in all weathers, mostly stored outside, I've only got one set of data on that - but it disagrees with part of your statement![]()
As the saying goes, if you cant take a joke don’t join in
Bob
The German economy doesn't need my hard earned, I'm sticking with something that's at least built in this country. 5 out of my current 6 vehicles at least. Istorically, I'll need to think about that, it's been a whilePersonally I’ll stay with German, they are still made to last, but undoubtedly less so than 20 years ago.
