Where is the best place/price to buy PETG in black? Lots of "out of stock" on eBay, I'm tired of browsing so any other recommendation welcome.

I can see the 5x1kg offer (on eBay) but fifty quid a bit toppy and I'd rather just buy a couple of reels for now (so it forces me to use up all the multicolour stuff).

I find Amazon to be the place to go, for their return policy, choice, delivery time and prices.

3D jake is quite good too, they do Sunlu and have used a couple of rolls of the Orange, green and Grey now with no probs

3DQF has good prices and is UK manufactured.
I've used their PETG and had no issues. Comes on a cardboard roll so a bit better for the planet too.
I try to avoid amazon like they avoid taxes.

That is libellous. If you believe that they don't pay every penny that they are obliged to, I'm sure that their solicitors would be pleased to discuss it with you. NOBODY pays a penny more tax than they are obliged to, if you have a beef with the tax paid, it is the legislators fault and not the fault of an HMRC victim.

I concur, everyone who pays does there best with in the rules to pay as little as possible.

Problem with Amazon apart from their obvious tax avoidance issues is they rob you blind on postage. That ten quid reel of PETG up there is suddenly fifteen quid with shipping but only after you go through the process for payment. The price you see is never the price you get. Every time you click through, they add another "tax". Somewhat ironically...

Neither of those statements is fair. WE ALL (except the very stupid) engage in tax avoidance, it is perfectly legal and good business. Postage is perfectly reasonable based upon what the Royal Mail tarrif suggests, but if you make much use of it, then a Prime subscription with its other benefits makes perfect sense. I cannot offer you an answer for blind prejudice however.

Amazon can and will undercut everyone on everything. Blind prejudice? Naive.

If you can, I recommend supporting UK business. 3DQF make quality filament and it's a good price.

I have found Timorry brand PETG to produce reliable prints in my Flashforge printer. So far its been giving better results than Falshforge's own brand.

I have tried many brands and not had any that I wouldn't buy again. If they are dry, I'm not sure it matters much.

We do, but the little man also avoids paying a penny more than legally required. As I said, your beef is with tax regulations, not the entity that gets robbed.

Not if you have Prime. That price is all it would cost you. A Prime subscription is worth its monthly cost for what you save in other ways, (i.e: postage), & you have access to their movies too.

Indeed. The idea of having a "tax haven" in the Cayman islands may be "legal" but is it morally justified (no, obviously, its's a scam).

Problem is, the rules are made by those with vast wealth and apart from constant "inflation", a zero sum game. The richer they get, the poorer you are. As for it being "fair" because it is part of the system; the system itself is corrupt. Politicians are bought and paid for!

A great example of gaming the system for personal profit: how is it that shipping from China is so cheap? (notwithstanding the fact that we are talking about buying a kg of plastic for £15!) The Universal Postal Union (UPU) sets international postal rates, and developing countries like China historically benefited from lower rates for small parcels. (my bold!). Difficult to see how the west can ever compete with the gigantic industrial complex that we have allowed China to become.

Anyhow, I still need to find a good source of reliable filament and will probably buy one of each of the recommendations above. I have been very happy with Geetech and SUNLU but willing to experiment. Many thanks

I’ve had good results with Altec and Filamentive PETG. Both UK companies.

Well since I clearly get through a lot more black than anything, I bit the bullet.

Not exactly pricey but fifty quid for five I thought was better than experimenting with the £15 each ones.

Plus it is allegedly "SUNLU" which I have never had problems with and even I won't bust a gut to deprive myself of filament while chasing a few quid off...
