I was expecting it to cost a fair bit more than it does after reading your review! I've got to say i'm tempted to get one, as i'm forever vacuuming crumbs from my kids.

I don't think it will work on children, might be worth trying and report back?!

we've got one upstairs and one downstairs, as above they're really really good

ours copes well with dog hair, German Shepard here

I think as per the other thread, the tick is to have them scheduled to go regularly

our downstairs one goes out 5 days a week, but it's not doing the same rooms every day

so
Monday kitchen + hall + dining room
Tuesday kitchen + front room + other front room
Wednesday kitchen + hall + dining room
etc. etc.

kitchen gets done extra, horrible textured tiles that love to collect paw prints :-o

The big question is what happens when it encounters something smearable. Cat/dog poo, or a rub of stuarts micrometer blue or something, does it smear it everywhere else, or intelligently stop and say "help!" before it trashes the house?
Poo-ocalpyses have been well documented and the vision cameras in expensive ones are supposed to detect things like this and stop with a message.

no idea how well it works because ours has never been tested...

but ours (I assume others too) have "scat detection" so they'll avoid it and other things like that

Don't know the make but junior has had one for a few years now. The battery is about knackered it can't do one room and get itself back to the charger now so pretty useless really. Batteries might be better nowadays though.

my first one, probably one of the original ones you could get, I swapped the battery for a new one, didn't cost much

that was a good few years ago now and it's still going, my mam has it in her back room - it's up a step so her good one can;t get in there
