New Robot Hoover / Mop [Impressed]

Scamazon threw at it my front door today. I set it up when I got home. Easy to do, add phone app and connect to WiFi. It then sets off from its docking station and hoovers and starts the mapping. Really impressive to see the map generating as it drives around first time:



It's using a lidar type scanner so literally a 3D map feature it does itself. It then works towards this map:



You can set up a schedule and which rooms need mopped and hoovered or just hoovered etc. It also doesn't talk back and gives MUCH less grief. It's busily working away all evening and seems to be picking up alot. I can see where its at anytime on the map and click to empty it where it scurries back to the docking station and empties itself.

Really impressive. Early days yet of course so ill update on here how it goes in the coming days.

I suggested one to my Mrs, Illbe back once the black eye has healed up…..

Joking aside, we have a German shedder and live on a farm, so doubt it would last 60 minutes before emptying rather than 60 days. My Mrs empties the Shark pet hoover ever time…daily

It didn't like the shaggy carpet



Kept stalling and saying "check cliff sensors". Maybe eventually firmware updates will fix the likes of that. For now I've added an exclusion zone on the map and its working fine. I also added an exclusion zone below my kitchen units where I haven't fitted a kick plate yet. Works perfect, it just drives along the edge.

It does get under all the seats and into every corner. Very impressive.

with our B Collies (long hair) n 3 cats we have use an industrial vac......
Hair, bad enough in the office chair casters.....how does it get so tangled up....just bought some skate board casters.....so far so good....
make the chair scoot a bit to fast tho....

With the live lidar space scanning its actually very smart!! It will gently bump into and detect the object then clean tight all around it and keep going. It seems to actively monitor its spaces all the time so no issues there. For example my German shepherd moves his bed a little and his legs stick out it will detect that and just keep going around the lazy git.

Ive since split off my front porch into a new room (it took this as part of the hallway, easy to split if you want) This way the porch can be done more frequently.

I also set the custom cleaning zones - also very easy. All hard floors except bathroom which is carpet so I set it to only hoover the bathroom.



The porch had been cleaned last. So If I set it at say 10am it will set off in a perfect line from its station and get into the porch in seconds. Then starts by doing the edges first then a perfect "flight path" to clean the room like the lines shown.

I was expecting it to cost a fair bit more than it does after reading your review! I've got to say i'm tempted to get one, as i'm forever vacuuming crumbs from my kids.

I got the idea from a family member who got a £650 one a week or so ago and told me about it being able to map itself and schedule cleaning etc. I didn't want to spend that much and when I looked spotted this one. For the £ its amazing so far.
