Torque converter welded to a (manual) flywheel?
I had worse than that on an Austin Maxi , the thrust bearing had friction welded itself to the clutch cover giving symptoms of a siezed engine. The only way to remove the clutch cover housing was to smash it off with a FBHCould be worse.
This is what happens when a release bearing eats through the fingers on the pressure plate!! my mate wondered why the clutch had gone "A Bit Funny" View attachment 497387
is that a relative of the BFH ?with a FBH
And you've got the cheek to complain that someone has saved you the hassle of dealing with 3 rounded off flex plate bolts? Tut tutNo, it is the correct flexplate but it is normally fitted with three bolts!
That doesn’t look like any flex plate I’ve seen, but then I’ve not seen oodles of them. No, it is the correct flexplate but it is normally fitted with three bolts!

While its quite a bodge.Actually you are quite right, it is a manual flywheel. A flexplate is far thinner and it explains but doesn't excuse the welding.
While its quite a bodge.
its impressive that they managed to weld it on and not make the convertor leak, and get it relatively balanced,
or was it not driven?
That...explains a lot...I've seen some dodgy stuff on scimitarsI have no idea, it came from a post on the Scimitar group.
they couldnt weld that well at the scimitar factoryIts a british car, are you sure its not a factory bodge?
