This is one of the only forums I know of these days where you can expect a reply to something within a day, never mind an hour.

I'm not sure if it's the mods catching them before they go live, but we have far fewer bots popping up on here in general compared to other forums.

I hope he does return new members are always good for the 'collective' knowledge on here but its been 24hrs....

If I joined a forum i would hang around for longer than 5mins after posting a hello , but like has been said before maybe other forums the expectation of a reply is much longer

It took me about 6 posts to get off being pre moderated.

It took me about 6 posts to get off being pre moderated.

We tend to pre-mod new members if their joining info looks suspicious or if the user name/email address/IP address has triggered the spam filter and we're not certain they're actually a spammer. Sometimes it's just that they've chosen a user name that a known spammer has previously used, or they've used an IP address that's been used by a spammer. Once we're happy that they're genuine we remove the pre-mod status.
For most we can tell pretty quickly if they're genuine or not.
