I am shifting a wall over in one of the ensuites to get a 1200x800 shower in there rather than a small corner one.

As I am rebuilding the wall anyway I am looking for an integrated one with just the controls and the outlet poking out of the wall (Or maybe even the type that just comes out of the ceiling - I like that!)

There's a miriad of tray and enclosure suppliers. Any recommendations please for a decent make that's nice to fit and doesn't fall apart within a week? I like the flush tray type rather than stepping up.

Showers too. Mira still a good make?

Id suggest go and touch and feel some of the stuff, screens and trays espescially. I boughtboth my holiday cottage showers etc from MKM, but not the cheap stuff. With screen dont go 6mm.

What type of floor do you intend to sit a tray on?

It is engineered joists with chipboard. I think the floor is overlaid with Jackoboard or something similar, then tiled.

We have 2 Mira Showers they were good for 20 years the replacement cartridges were Not.
The refurb bathroom has a different make cant remember name, we will see, only 10 months so far the glass screen is 10mm and takes 2 in comfort with a waterfall head 40mm step up to get trap in

We have Mira showers in the house and they are very good indeed. I'm about to order a Mira shower tray as they look nice and sturdy.

On the overhead spray, the women don't necessarily like it. Ask around to be on the safe side.

Turned out they don't always want to get their hair wet.

Sometimes they don't always want to wash their hair and some don't like having to do hand stands in the shower...

She has her own shower and my hair seems to take less time to dry as the years roll by

I don't like the overhead ones, gives me a feeling of claustrophobia.

We have high water pressure, my Mrs prefers the rain fall head, reckons the other bit hurts first thing in the morning.

Fit both then theres a choice.

ive had a few showers elec and off the plumbing system ones and only thing id fit in my own house now is the shower bar ones and i do maintance for our rented rooms and houses and now fit them in them as well screw fix do a there own brand for less then 70 quid work well great with low or high pressure and where we are is hard water area

Turn off water undo 2 nuts on the back of the shower replace the bar and all the fittings in no time at all and new shower ready to go
