Comma was always seen as an ecomomy brand.

But they becoming the Skoda of the drummed up oil world.

change the belt much more frequently (like every 40k /4 years) or can/ will do it yourself.

Crikey - change the belt in my Lancia ever 20,000 or two years . . . as it's now done over 200,000, I've got quite good at it

Do you mean the MG S5? It is an Ev and looks pretty good esp for the price.

Yup that's the one...it has the same floor pan as the MG4 which I currently have. The MG4 drives really well (rwd). I'll probably get the S5 but would want the extended range battery (not out yet).

I was really going off our EV because of the hassle/cost of public chargers....but now I've discovered I can use it as a 7kw power supply I'm now seeing it in a new light!

I wasn’t a fan of the driver assist on the mg4. But apparently they have turned it down a bit on the S5. And have got a button for the driver presets that you can just double press, way better then having to go through the menu to turn off the lane assist.

Also they have focused on improving efficiency and materials. Sounds pretty good. I’ll have to look at that when the time for a new car comes.

Charging infrastructure is dire, not just in the uk. I luckily would be 99% of the time charge at home.

My Dacia Jogger has the same...I think all Renault group cars have it...very sensible idea.

The jogger does 56mpg...our EV is mainly used for city driving but I'm using it this week as a generator to power my tools while I repair my boat...missing my estate boot though!

My daily is a 90s Alfa 145 with a boxer motor.
Today it came back from a 250 mile round trip loaded with tools and it never missed a beat

A guy we were friendly with had one. He lent it to us for a night to take my son and his mates to their end of school prom ().

A couple of weeks after we gave it back, it shat its gearbox. £15k for a second hand box!

I consider it a very lucky escape!

I should have been more specific on model etc. Good pal of mine who is a (very good) mechanic said he would never speak to me again if I bought the Maserati Cup Ghiblia I had a loan of. Tried to kill me that car did. Inexplicably and without warning would swap lanes at speed, amongst other things.

bought myself a new'sh car. bought a nissan juke 22 , 1.0 ltr model.
it has a chain driven belt instead of wet belt and only 20,000
ideal car for us as we only do about 6,000 miles a year ,mostly local and occasion whitby or york during winter.
I did consider the hybrid but wife doesn't want auto.

Fully expect mine to start when I go out to it this afternoon after I spent a couple weeks in the USA. Mind you, it's only done 207,000 miles, so at 34 yrs old, probably not got to the unreliable bit of it's life.

Last one did well over 100,000 in my hands before I sold it (as I'd bought this one) - failed to start once at work due to a failed earth connection to the engine.

Edited as I just remembered something - earlier this year (or was it later last year - time flies) the box started to make more noise than I like - removed it and handed it to local factors - within a day had a message and photo that the bearing on the end of the main shaft had worn, but they didn't know where to get one . . . some rummaging later I had a number and a few days later I had it back, refitted it and silence resumed. Rest of the box was pronounced in excellent condition with no work needed. I've always run it on Millers oils since I bought it at 80,000 miles, it's done a lot of towing of my trials car up and down the country, as well as usually been driven with enthusiasm, so I reckon that's a good thumbs up for Millers.

I think I might even wash it this weekend.

The car I would do unspeakable things for would be a Lancia Stratos. In the 70's I blagged my way onto the Alitalia RAC rally service barges supporting the three Stratos' they were fielding that year. Hamsterley forest at some ungodly hour and the sound they made was distinct and unmistakable, great times.

To be honest I have, at one time or another, had most of the exotics, Ferrari, Bentley, Lotus, Aston Martin, MG and quite a few others, the new Maserati's though look the part. A Gentleman's tourer (as long as you are in no rush to get back from wherever you are I suppose).
