Same as masonry drills. Too fast and as my college lecturer would say, "your end'll get hot and drop off".Pointed tile drills every time.
I think mine were cheapies from Screwfix..
Edit - as said above, drill at very low speed.
I have always just used a standard TCT bit with no impact of course. Is there an easier way? Porcelain bathroom tiles. Been looking on Screwfix and some bad reviews of the pointy tile bits. Pictures posted show them failing after just one or two holes!
I have drilled and trepanned holes in glass before using a coffer dam of blue tax and a carbide slurry with a flat steel rod. Doesn't work on vertical of courseI couldn't touch our new bathroom tiles with a TCT bit - they're as hard as nails.
Ended up using a diamond bit and it went through several holes with no bother at all.
