I have been able to collect old metal bed frames and weld those with no problem and a decent looking bead.
My question is that when I tried to weld the mounting bracket onto the trailer, all I did was just get bubblies everywhere. I mean it’s stuck on on. I cannot knock it off with a sledgehammer so I’m sure it’ll hold the tire, but it looks ugly.
Can someone please help me find videos of welding uphill? I did find one of my issues was I didn’t have my hood dark enough so I couldn’t see what I was doing.
I used to use a stick welder in my teenage years and a little bit for work a long time ago so I have somewhat of a knowledge on how to well but it’s been so long and I’ve got such little experience. I still call myself a beginner.
Thank you in advance for your time.

From Amazon thinking I would send it back as a piece of junk but it is welding better than I can so for $76 USD I think I did well. I’m just trying to do odd jobs like add a spare tire mount to my utility trailer and basically learn to make a good bead. I didn’t go more expensive because I didn’t want to waste the money on something that I might just give up on if I got frustrated.I have been able to collect old metal bed frames and weld those with no problem and a decent looking bead.
