My daughters 2012 Sport is 148bhp! Probably lost a couple of horses with 160k on the clock
She was 21 when she bought it, still lives at home and the insurance in her 1st year wasn't eye watering. Broker told her to put 1 of us on the policy and it did reduce the premiums
Her previous car was a Honda Jazz
There was an MPS version between 2009 and 2013 with 256bhp!

Yep. I checked out mx5s a while ago for someone - seems like they're built right down to a spec...very good mechanicals but ZERO underbody protection from new..... Idk if MX3s are the same though

I was just surprised, turbos go a long way but still. The L322 is outputting 330hp from a 4.4 litre so my money is on that lasting longer. Ironically it also has better fuel economy but then at motorway speeds the engine is pretty much idling.

Thought the raptor used the ecoboost 3.0 v6 petrol, rated at 292hp.
Happy with our 2006 mx5 1.8 nbfl which has done 205kkm.
It did have massive rustrepairs before we got it 4 years ago.
So happy with it that I now find myself looking for a cx5 to tow our caravan.
Would the modern 2 liter have similarities with the 1.8 in the mx5?

Went to look at another one today, it was described as very good bodywork when asked, except for a small crack in the lower front bumper skirt. Ok I can live with that...
Drove 35 miles to see a complete piece of ****.
Rust hole bubbling through the front wing, scuffs on the roof from stuff being dragged over it, marks in the paint finish, dent in the roof, none of this is noticeable in the photos so you have to trust that they tell the truth.
I left after putting my knee into the rust hole.
On the way home the ubiquitous cxxk in a BMW nearly took my front bumper off trying to undertake me in heavy traffic on the M25, that was after he nearly hit me up the **** driving like a tit.
I'm finished with people now, this country is full of self centered lying cheating arrogant cxxks and I can't be dealing with them anymore.
Where do I go now?

2.0l EcoBlue only went to 185ps, anything with more power had a v6.
Although I have no idea exactly what engines Ford used in newer Rangers.

I spent a hellish fortnight looking at similar condition cars here after my son crashed his Astra G into a barrier properly totalling it and was 3rd party only insured. Eventually I reliquished hope of finding something learner insurable in his budget of under 3k and critair 3 (2004 and newer petrol) after a massive depressing stream of crap cars with major isses for lots of money, and bought a Astra H with oxygen sensor issues and engine check light on and a boot full of water figuring I had the stuff to sort them out & we had the remains of the perfectly running prior to barrier Astra G to rob parts off (none of which actually fit the H series, I know now...)
It would take several paragraphs to write down all the stupidity Ive fixed, suffice to say today the car's on the ramp with a large hole where the engine should be, and it will be like that until thursday when a replacement engine arrives on a pallet. Apart from that, the seller forged the paperwork getting his girlfriend and kids to sell it, her signing as someone else and a private individual with forged identity papers, then later confessed when confronted and turned out to be a car paintwork specialist wanting to offload without any guarantee. We finally get it straightened out so legally we can change it over, and the stupid ******* misspells our surname on the paperwork, and registers it to the mispelt name on the gov system. Which means we cant register it in our legal name and get the carte grise (v5). Now we're waiting for the gov official records to be updated, but its been a week, and they promise a 4 week turnaround on the SLA and wont look into it for us. Today is the last day that the mot (CT) is valid for changing the logbook, which means if it doesnt get done today (which it cant), the very first thing we have to do when the engine is in, is take it for a new mot before we can re-register it properly. And the catalyst is probably fubar by the motor. Oh and the paintwork is orange peeled to death and the lacquer is flaking already.
So chin up, it could always be worse. I think buying a used car exposes you to the very scum of the bottom of the barrel unless your lucky, especially in the more budget part of the market. Whatever the country.

Yes, these all failed within the warranty period and he got rid before the warranty ran outFord won't care as long as it lasts to the end of the warranty
