wiper motor problem

fitted a 2nd hand rear wiper motor from a citroen C1 to the rear of my tractor , if you idependently wire it too a battery works fine, if you hard wire it to the tractor it blows the 20 amp fuse , any ideas?

Hi, I fixed the rear wiper on my 90s Alfa yesterday
The battery was going flat if left for a few days. The fuses were all ok but I found 2 relays that were drawing current even at standby - when I removed and refitted the relays the power drain was cured and the "not worked for many months" back wiper started to work again.
It's almost as if the relays had got stuck "On" but were reset to normal when I unplugged them which makes no sense
All it tells me is that the wipers on my 30 yr old car use relays.

Looking at a circuit diagram for a C1 I see 20A fuses for the wipers but no relays https://fuseandrelay.com/citroen/c1.html

Photos show a C1 wiper motor has 4 terminals (I'm used to older wipers with earth, "On", "Park") - any chance you have wired it up using the wrong connections? https://citroendirectparts.co.uk/product/citroen-c1-2014-2022-rear-wiper-motor/

It should be fairly simple (*as said above - as long as it's not a 24v tractor)
