Anybody else see that 10 year old Esab Smashweld 250 go for £1080!
WTF! Now I know it was is good nick an all but its still 10 years old, can't really be worth that much surely, compared to what you can get new for that money?

or am I wrong?

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, which is £1,079 in this case It looks like it's been kept in the house. I like his description "when made in England meant something" like isn't Esab Swedish?

Looks like a few people got carried away with themselves.
Its a good machine, we bought it's Murex cousin, basically same machine but in red.
In a similar condition, almost new/lightly used, cost £750.

Its 240 mind, so will fetch a decent price. 3 phase stuff generally goes for peanuts.

I'm going to watch that one and see if the buyer coughs up Might have been the case that they thought 'I'll put a stupidly high bid on and will get it for just 20 quid more then the last bidder' not realising that another bidder thought the same thing Bet he/she (best not make assumptions ay?) was a bit horrified at the last minute jump
