Tools option/choice, whilst doing a task

Anyone else ever start off with the "delicate" tools, to try & minimise collateral damage, then after a while, bring the big stuff out, thinking: "I'm not asking, any more."?

I normally start with the big stuff then smash whatever I'm trying to fix and regret it

I have a mate with a steam loco. He’s never done much restoration so will spend hours trying to get a completely seized nut and bolt apart gently. I tend to send him to get a brew and gas axe it while he’s away

Circlips come to mind, out with the circlip pliers and the end breaks off, follow on with hammer and punch/chisel.

Depends on what your trying to repair really, a watch or large plant kit, a hot spanner on a watch might be a bit of overkill........

It's your starting point the fault or damage that defines the tool selections....
