New van engine build

Picked up a nice 2007 Vivaro Sportive crewcab which i will be rebuilding another M9R engine for it in the coming weeks..pics to follow. Anyway on taking the bonnet off i came across strange bolts, nothing i have fits them including the E-Torx sockets i have, had to grab them with vice grips to get them out anyone seen these before and what are they?

Hi. I've seen something similar in the past but no idea what they're called.
The ones I've seen were much smaller sizes on electronics equipment, my guess was either to speed up the assembly line or as a tamper-proof / "no-user-parts-inside" unit.
Never seen any large enough to hold car panels, or seen any used on vehicles.

Why the F put stupid headed bolts on bonnet mounts makes no sense ! I remember years ago my old man bought a car for my mum and it had 5 sided bolts holding the brake callipers on that caused some head scratching

Dodge 2500 did this, odd thread sized, said they didn't want people replacing with any old bolt, highly stressed and such.
