Many years ago I used to buy heaps of little parts from China using eBay. It was always a long wait and very often I got unusable/defective or incorrect items. Often there were parts missing. Sellers would never want to just refund the order even if it was a totally incorrect item, they wanted to do partial refunds. I ended up deciding to never order parts from China like this.

Within the last year or two I started ordering from AliExpress as I needed some parts which AliExpress had for way cheaper than eBay. Genuine parts weren't a viable option. Since then I've been buying little parts on AliExpress like I used to buy on eBay. Either Chinese sellers have improved or it's because I use the AliExpress items with free postage which usually means their "Choice" thing. I haven't yet received anything defective/incorrect from AliExpress. I just don't look forward to sorting out any issues if they do occur based on what I've read.

This desoldering unit is not great. The whole thing is big and clumsy, the nozzle is too big and bulky and worst of all it doesn't get hot enough to melt lead free solder, even adding solder to help conductivity doesn't work.
The only positive is the suction works ok. But once you let go of the button it forcefully sprays out what you sucked up and it goes everywhere!

The display on my T12 soldering station stopped working so I bought this replacement unit.
To get the iron hot enough to melt solder I had it set at its max setting 480 deg c. No chance of melting lead free stuff. I tried swapping the tips with my other unit and it was the same.
I wanted to swap the iron over but the plugs are different! Instructions were in Chinese script but I reckon I got a duff unit.

I'm returning both items and buying a manual solder sucker and a Quicko station like my old one.

That looks cheap even in the photo, it's not even earthed. Big Clive pulled apart the "cheapest soldering iron" which along with not being earthed, the wires were just twisted together.

For manual solder suckers I like the Engineer one. Be careful though as there's knockoffs coming from China which copy the branding and packaging.

Had 4 solar lights. Only 3 appeared to work. They refunded the lot. Then the 4th light started to work. Internals, soldering etc a bit lashed together but for the money

Had 4 panel meters; voltage/current/frequency, 7 segment led things. One segment on one unit was duff. For the price I didn't quibble even. Something like £10 for 4.

Had other small bits, saw guides etc. Been fine.

Just got this 1000kg crane scale for £28 posted from aliexpress so pretty happy. Should be accurate enough for the destruction testing.

Ali Express five day delivery ....
Got three mixed packs of glue on dent pullers to try and help a friend pull out a serious but wrinkle free door dent out .

The puller head is a simple slid over the dolly head on the plastic pullers ,

I made an 18 " three pound slide hammer to screw into the puller head it is made of bright steel & is lovely to use.

Can I find the puller jaw ..... NFC .

Now I've ordered another puller head the original one is sure to turn up .

How do you know they're fake? Can't see it myself look reasonable build quality.

They get so far with them and then stick a load of Philips screws in...

Plus the colour is wrong.

I use one of these at work. Has no problem with lead free solder.

Yes fake for sure. Look the part overall but even the battery controls are different on the knock off ones. Total fraudster as he should be making it very clear these are "Milwaukee Compatible" aftermarket tools.

There's loads of listings for the fake tools, many on other accounts so you're gonna have to do about 50+ reports
