Where can I buy 5.0mm - 5.5mm diameter lead wire?

I'm trying to find a source of lead wire 5.0mm to 5.5mm diameter to test a prototype tool.

I only need a short length (less than 3m) and any soft lead / lead alloy will do. If it works then I would consider buying a modest sized reel.

Any ideas where I should look? Would it be used in roofing and setting railings?

AliExpress appears to have some but I'd like to know where I could source it in the UK.

Make it. Cast a lead ball or cylinder from recycled scrap and press it through a 5.5mm hole, as its so soft it will not require a great amount of force.

If shorter lengths, perhaps upto a meter, you could likely cast it.

How round does it need to be?

5.5mm by 3m is only 810g of lead so quite an easy melt.

Roundness isn't critical as it will be fed into a press to form the required profile. I haven't tried casting and although I realise it's technically possible I'd prefer ready formed wire. Thanks.

Heaps Arnold & Heaps in Rotherham certainly used to supply lead wire in that size many years ago, worth contacting them. I've possibly still got some somewhere but will need serious searching and measuring.
