i have a bit of a conundrum, see what the collective thinks.
Bought a 64 plate non runner and from what I understood engines were the same, just ancillaries are different, bought an earlier engine and there are some physical differences.
Most important one being the later blocks have a water cooled turbo, and have a different block casting to accommodate the feed pipe tapping.
Later block with pipe near core plug
Earlier block with no pipe
Also the later engines have a different crankshaft (alter stroke for compression ratio), flywheel and clutch (handle more torque), and lower compression ratio.
Now, I have read somewhere else about someone tapping into a heater hose to get around the water feed, but not sure what running a higher compression ratio would do...
I'm looking for a later correct block but have this one sitting, and I'm wondering, In theory would higher compression ratio mean higher power
Just fit the later clutch design that was built to handle more torque.
bonus conrod peekaboo
an sheared flywheel bolts...

seems they tried it on and sent a different engine to the one in the eBay add, but failed to notice the glaring error of it having an automatic flywheel instead of manual! Was the right block at least.
