Isn't it still in there? How could we forget the table in the Sprinter?![]()
Rolls Royce used metric and imperial brake pipe fittings on the same brake pipe back in the early 70s , think it was on the Silver Shadows?Working on the Morgan this morning, lying in the footwell trying to get at a couple of bolts behind the heater, one was 7/6” AF, the other M6, not been touched from new…![]()
Is ME just used for model engineering?Isn't it still in there?
I have metric, ba, BSF, bsw, unf, UNC, ME, bscy, BSP and NPT.
That's what you get for years of playing with motorbikes!
I could be interested in some more ME.
ME is just model engineers threadWe have far too many
So trying to sort some out once we have kept the ones we think we will use.
I have found an assortment of ME some 32TPI and some 40 TPI but also a small box labeled ME48TPI which I have never seen or heard of and cant find any info?
Doest any one use BSF?
Normally yes, but 40 tpi is also used in metrology. Is ME just used for model engineering?
I have been surprised over the years at how random threads pop up, a 1930's motor bike throttle was 2BA I just wrongly assumed all BA was on electrical stuff.Normally yes, but 40 tpi is also used in metrology.

The points cover screws and pillar bolts on 60s BSAs, Norton and Triumphs are 2BA.I have been surprised over the years at how random threads pop up, a 1930's motor bike throttle was 2BA I just wrongly assumed all BA was on electrical stuff.
On the Retro Manods, they used BA threads. The points cover screws and pillar bolts on 60s BSAs, Norton and Triumphs are 2BA.
I have a set of those, rarely used but sometimes useful. Another oddball i came across was an obscure French metric fine thread also used on artillery by Vickers for some reason, it was used on some Morris sidevalve engines.ME is just model engineers thread
