Looks like they have gone into administration. Shame really as they seemed to hold a lot of stock for older stuff even if a bit expensive at times.

I need a few bits currently for the digger. Is it still reasonably safe to buy from them?

Use credit card, if the parts dont turn up, its the banks money wasted, you will get a refund.

I used Agriline a lot with excellent results....
No probs for delivering to France before Brexit.....big orders or small.....
I buy loacaly now as I dont fix many tractors anymore.........

Malpasonline is just Sparex parts.
The MO website even used to be identical to the Sparex one, except with prices shown, until Sparex redone their own website a few years ago.
Lots of tractor dealers use Sparex for non-OE stuff, although I suspect it's more likely to be Agco (aka Massey/Challenger/Fendt) dealers who're most likely to use them now, as Sparex is now owned by Agco.

I wouldn't be that concerned about buying parts from a site in administration, as the administrators are liable for everything, and the last thing that they'll do, is risk taking money for something that they can't supply.

Sparex have never shown prices, or let you deal direct, just like most major distributors.
Kramp and TVH (more material handling than agri), are another two that operate a similar way, where you have to purchase through a dealer.

Ah. I see. That's why I liked Malpas then. My local NH dealer looks blankly at you when you say the word tractor or digger, let alone get into the detail of which tractor or digger.

The local JD dealer at least has someone who is interested in older stuff and can search a parts diagram.

Part of the issue is finding a good parts guy who knows what you're looking for.
Lots of the older guys who knew where to get obscure parts are retiring, and the young guys just don't have that knowledge.
Old parts guy in the previous local MF dealer, you could dump pretty much anything on his desk, and he'd either get one, tell you where you could get one, or just tell you had no chance.

I dealt with the non-online part of Malpas a couple times, and they were always helpful.
I had to rebuild a gearbox in my neighbours NH tractor, after the local dealer quoted a stupid price, having already charged a stupid amount to do the clutch, and their instructions were, get the parts somewhere else.
A couple emails later to Malpas, I had a pro-forma, and the parts delivered a couple days later.
I needed a couple additional shims once the initial assembly was done to check tolerances, and a couple days later the shims appeared with no additional charge.

Worth considering Bepco for aftermarket tractor/engine parts, a friend of mine was in quality control there and he used to take his work very seriously.

Any good websites that stock a good selection of searchable parts? Using the cnh part numbers throws a lot of results in the US but not so much here for my 655c backhoe.

Malpas also stocked Bepco. Bought a fair bit from them a couple of years ago. Quality way better than Sparex or Agriline.

I suspect someone will likely buy parts of the company, but the agricultural industry isn't exactly doing that well just now, with quite a bit of consolidation going on.
I suspect the online part was likely one of the more profitable parts, but whether profitable enough to justify it being sold as a going concern, may be a different matter.

You maybe right, but probably not a good thing. Reducing customer choice, profit over quality, higher prices for crappier stuff, etc.

A report I read said they made a pretax profit of just shy of a million with a 42 million turnover in 2022. I don't know if that's good or not but doesn't sound too bad for profit?

Have you not got any good local tractor shops local? Ours can get bits for our old IH baler from the state's as long as we order before 2pm, normally next day!
