another roof question

My monkey builders are getting their fingers out at last. Hopefully.
so a 3mx3m block built shed what does anybody suggest for a roof? so many options.
They are talking that square corrugated steel stuff I think maybe with insulation
OSB? with felt or rubber?

is it single pitched roof

corrugated well you could but i prefer the box profile or even the metal slate roof look

So after the storm I was up in my shed roof, putting a few extra fixing in the ridge as it had lifted a bit. The roof is Onduline over 12mm OSB. I noticed the Onduline has hardened with time 12 years, and a few of the nail holes with wind and walking up there are a bit big and will be letting in...

the insulation all depends on what roof you choose to have

It is effectively a flat roof well with a few degrees of slope to drain.
Bocks profile was what I meant but could not think of the word
Eventually I am planning on fitting decking from the walls with a few inches clearance over the roof itself.
If it happens a place to drink beer and snipe at kids on stolen motorbikes.

build your shed roof first then determines the height you want as goes for a seating area with a roof on it

fit that after

seating area is a long term plan and may never happen

where will the main daylight be

at the rear of the shed or at the house view ?

do you want the view from the house to have a full frontage or would you like to see the roof tiles towards the house

half shed half seating area



it all depends on your planning of the shed roof what your after and what you would like for the future as you dont have to have a single pitched roof as the above can be used

Shed will gave a big double window facing west and smaller one on the south.
Roof will slope down to the north.
Waving arms round to work that out.

recently did a garage at my folks with this profile, its bigger that the average wiggly tin, closer to big six, but it looks great, much less sheddy than the box profiles,

so has the shed built within the 3mx3m leaving you with 1.3 of seating area

remember if planned right this is only the roof the posts would be galvanised steel whilst the shed remains as normal

its also a metal roof

so instead of one high side one low side you get to play with the height rather well

if you dont want it as a seating area you can use it as a cover area when you need to work outside

an apex roof is better than a single pitched roof whilst a 4 pitched roof gazebo style gives other options

with a single pitched roof you will have to consider a lean too against the front of the shed with an apex roof you get to play with roof pitches rather well
