Afternoon All,
I have just received this microscope. Carl Zeiss 3676 which from my research is around 1934.

It has had crackle paint slapped all over it at some point. There was lots of dirt on optics so stripped the head and cleaned everything.

I think the black paint is original so I stopped myself from taking it back to brass.
There is a double prism inside head which I’m cleaned.
And reassembled main head.

Most of the dirt was in the rotating glass with different graticules for measuring threads, angles and other bits.

Got it back together before I crated another non working project!

Long term I will remove the crackle
Paint and refinish the machine back to it’s black glory.
I also lannto replace bulb in light source with LED and also make top light to use as microscope as well as profile work.
There is so little info on this where it’s so old so hunting down a manual and other details at present.
