filler rod charts

anyone got any good charts for what filler needs to be used for welding different grades of aluminium together?

seems like a never ending theory lesson at the moment.

ill likely be needing to weld 6063, 6082 and 5754 either to themselves or to each other.

i have 4043 and 5356 already, saw somewhere that 5754 need 5556 when welding to itself, but cant realy find anyhting on what filler would be used to weld it to 6063 and the more i look the more i find different answers.

i have no idea with that...its light and shiny, to me its ally...its only this last week ive realised how may grades there are...i thought there maybe 5 or 6 but no, theres bloody hundreds...

i cant seem to find anything about welding 5754 to other grades though although did find an article that says welding 5xxx to 6xxx is best done with a 5xxx rod, most commonly 5356 which is nice cos i have that rod and they are the 2 series i will be working with

i also learnt today that you can determine if something is ally or magnesium with white vinegar...magnesium will make the vinegar fiz/foam whereas ally will have no effect

If I'm doing 1050 sheet I'll cut strips from the offcuts to use as filler.

im sure i read somewhere that 4043 can be used on 1050?
