The winner for flame jobs now are Testla’s.
I suspect 25+ year old used, abused and poorly maintained EVs are also far rarer, whereas the average age of ICE vehicles is increasing annually, and with it presumably, the chance of something going wrong.Unless of course you look at say facts and figures? Even looking at percentages of vehicles sold, EV fires are still far far rater
Exactly. Numbers sold p.a. means nothing as a statistic. It's the total number of vehicles on the road, the age, the mileage (imagine the disparity between total EV mileage to-date and the total ICE mileage to-date - just among current road registered vehicles. Factor in wear & tear and age etc - and the reliability and indeed number of fires per (say) 10,000 miles (not ven considering the added dangers and difficulties of EV fires) - and the picture would look completely different.I suspect 25+ year old used, abused and poorly maintained EVs are also far rarer, whereas the average age of ICE vehicles is increasing annually, and with it presumably, the chance of something going wrong.
I had 2 home made signs on my desk:As my Dad used to say, there's lies, damn lies, and statistics - and he was a 'numbers man' in the CS...
Who actually signed off wet belt .

A company has developed a chain kit to replace the wet belt in the Peugeot Puretech engine so I don't think it'll be long before a Ford kit comes along too.I'm surprised no aftermarket company hasn't developed a chain drive conversion
They've been reliable in my experience.Dayco
who advertise them as "High robustness and proven reliability on test benches and vehicle fleets"![]()
