Hydraulic hand pump seal kit

Hand pump on my 25ton press always leaked a bit but much worse now i always planned to replace with a air over hydraulic but funds are tight right now

does anyone know where i can get seals like those below ?



there are 3 rubber washers under the top cap from the left then a threaded pin spanner nut with what i can only describe at 4 washers stacked that are shaped like a hollow doughnut cut in half

is this a standard setup ? I have 3 others but they are set up for other hydraulic things they have never leaked so never needed to strip them down

this it the offending item i dont think it is an Enerpac may be a cheapy one



If the seals are stupid money i'll look out for a second hand one but they look like they should only be a few quid but i bet they wont be...

You can't.
I modified my 10 ton which had a similar set-up

shame u took it apart....
time and money stopped me repairing my 25 ton Tangye.....
I refilled it with new oil and about 15% engine stop leak.....total fix...

Its in my nature to take things apart my workshop has boxes and tubs full of things that are waiting to be fixed i just cant help myself the piston doesnt look to bad if it is a clarke then maybe i can get spares . Ive got a few other pumps with quick releases but they are all different types i'll have to have a rummage around to see if i have a spare female one of the other type as the on the 25tom ram in my press was yet another different type sods law

if not i'll try your fix , i will go air/hyraulic one day but money being diverted every which way at the moment

The piston looks quite badly marked, considering the job it's doing.

ok its not amazing but pretty easy to replace it if i need too , i havnt measured it yet but I have SS rod in lots of sizes so thats possible

The main ram seal is a standard hydraulic seal and I think I paid less than £15 for the main seal and the scrapper ring. If it has red dots on the ram to indicate the upper limit then it’s possible to replace the seal without dismantling the jack. Add more oil when at the upper limit and slowly jack the piston out.

It's a very old Clarke's pump. Circa 1985. They don't have spares.

cheers i had a quick google and nothing like the seals that this thing has I'll see if i can find a quick release that fits one of the other pumps temporally.

you can get them yeah but seal set looks completely different. ive got a box of various hydraulic seals i might be able to bodge something up but tbh dont think i have anything that small

Try your local independent hydraulics specialist, found our local Pirtek a waste of time when I wanted some seals for my Epco engine crane , they couldn’t be bothered .a A mate who had a hydraulics company but now retired suggested Allseals in Norwich who couldn’t have been more helpful.
