Miller Syncrowave 375s incoming supply size

What size trip is advisable to use with a syncrowave 375s, and what is a decent price to pay for such a machine?

Also has anyone got a manual (or any links to an online manual?)

I wouldn't pay too much for it and make sure it's got all the kit, i.e water cooler, pedal, etc.
Difficult things to price up really though the running cost probably puts people off buying them so they can be had for just a few hundred.
They need a HUGE supply if you plan on running them at full-whack though if you only need to run it at lower power you will get away with a smaller mcb as long as it's a C or D rated one. (D preferably though they can be harder to source).
One problem is the huge startup draw, it's often that that will trip the mcb.
Do you plan on running it on 240 or 400v?

Is the 375 the more modern version of the 1980s 300? I've got a 300 which technically needs a 110 amp supply from 240V, though I'm using 40 amps (worst that can happen is it blows). For price my 300 was about £600. It's far too big.

That is the 350A/50Hz model (3-430A), Spec says 131 amps at 230V (88A amps for /P model).

Will be less at 415V. At 230, I would say a 32A minimum, 64A preferred to get any decent output.

I have a similar class machine and get about 220A out at 50A in. Mine specs a 175A breaker

At the moment ive tried it on a c rated 32 amp, but it keeps tripping out on start up. Do you think a D rated MCB would be man enough to run it then?

Guessing a 240V supply. 40 amp D rated is what I run. There's a fair bit of start up current. Haven't tried a 32 amp D, but did try a 32 amp B and that didn't work.

Pricing wise, the millers of that era go for anything from 600 quid to a about a grand depending on model and equip etc. Of course you can get lucky and find one from a more private source at a reduced cost. That's about the typical market pricing, I watch the prices of miller synchros pretty often.


As for a manual, you wont find one for the 375 s. It's not listed in the miller site. I have a 375 s like you and have been keeping my eyes open for a long time with no luck at all. Even posting on the miller forum got no response.I think that version was not made in the USA but in Europe somewhere, hence why miller USA don't list that model.

The best thing is go download some other manuals from the miller site of a similar model, The synchros are pretty generic and the controls are pretty common to most models. That's what i did when i got my 375s and it served it purpose.
