Bought!! now looking for a torch...

Hi, I have been around here, reading and getting information for months before posting.
In Spain its not easy to get help, forums about welding are dead, nobody answers, and its very difficult to get information from welder users.
You guys have a great source of information here.
So i want to buy a welder for years, TIG of course, and i have seen a spanich brand, SOLTER that seems OK. Their machines are made here, and got 2 years warranty. I'm almost decided but i would like to know your opinions about both pulse and no pulse:

The diferencce between them are the pulse stuff. Also the price, 200 Euros.
1160 Euros pulsed one
850 no pulsed.
No torch and no regulator.
they are 160 amps I think its enough as i want to make a motorbikes workshop in the basement.
I would like to know your opinions and if you think there are better machines for that price, even there in UK. I have seen many of your supliers got no shipping cost to spain.
Any help would be greatly apreciated sorry for my crappy english.

Hello, I don't know anything about TIG but if you do a search for TIG welding course download you will find long videos, in torrent format or to download with jdownloader from rapidshare or similar. You will also find books as the welding encyclopedia, the Haynes welding manual, which will explain everything you may need.

You could get a kemppi miniarc tig 180 with pulse for about the same price (maybe cheaper if you haggle) which has good customer service/back up in Spain, or at least in the North where I was. Praxair also supply EWM machines although they may be a bit pricey for you, but again have good customer service. The Weco discovery 161 is also a nice bit of kit, and although it looks a bit flimsy is very durable with a very smooth arc in both TIG and MMA mode. Airliquid also sell oerlikon which is a top notch brand, and ESAB should also be quite readily available.

Whatever you do most companies put a large mark up on their equipment, so ring up several and play them off against each other to get the best price.

many thanks to all, I know Kemppi, and oerlikon but I cant find them at good prices here.
But i think i got it, I received a offer this afternoon by mail, i think it's really good:

Lincoln -INVERTEC V - 160 TPulse +cable 5m + torch LT 17 G 4mts............. 1100 € + iva 18%.

What do you think? Pulse, lincoln... I think it's more than cheap.

Quick response there mate! Fair enough, I guess some companies put more on their stuff than others, but as I'm sure you'll agree, as a business you're out to make money (all be it not alot ) and as customers we're out to get a good deal. Part of what my company does is sell alot of PPE and fire extinguishers via the internet, and as you know, with the next "shop" just a mouse click away it certainly keeps you honest.

Just to be clear, that comment wasn't aimed at yourself or anyone else on this forum, I've had a look at your shop and the prices seem quite resonable.

What will you do? CEMONT or Lincoln
There are more or less 200 euros difference.

If it's possible look for AC/DC.....it will be perfect for doing ally things on motorbikes....you could do tanks, repairs in covers...........

If you can pay 1200.00 euros look for a used tig AC/dC, from a known brand, I have a prestotig 165 AC/DC, bought in UK for 850.00 euros used with torch and reg and it's perfect.

So you are also from alicante,??? and where did you get the argon bottle??? and how??, with a contract?
