Further to my previous thread '2K epoxy primer again' I've found that Eastwood have brought out a new product I think.

This solves the problem of using a little of 2K at a time, does anybody have any thoughts?

It depends how much 'a little' is.....for small areas not underneath outward facing topcoat (ie less than panel size) I normally mix hb body and apply with brush. For panel sized areas I'd spray the same (with protection). At £29 per can I don't think the economics compare - the same money buys 1 litre of unthinned 989......
I'm also not very happy with the way Eastwood declare 'iso free' - with the implication that it's fine to spray without protection - it's not fine at all, there are a number of hazardous substances in the hardener once aerosolled and airborne...

Sounds interesting, if an expensive solution. I've just bought some plastic syringes, hoping that they will make mixing small amounts of epoxy primer a bit easier. Haven't tried them yet.

digital scale and some disposable spoons make for easy mixing of small amounts

for odds n ends it doesnt need to be mega accurate

I did wonder about just doing it by weight. The biggest faff for me is the mega stirring that epoxy requires to get all the lumps out. It's really hard work by hand.

use an old coat hanger bent up on one end and a drill to whisk it up , makes sure its mixed well

It's easy to mix with a paint stirrer and a slow drill, but cleaning the stirrer after is a real pain and needs lots of thonners.
So I decant it into one of the paint stirrer pots that I get from my paint supplier (after mixing it well with a drill type paint stirrer)

I then used a drill to mix when I'm going to use it.

I always mix by weight as I find that easier.

It depends how much 'a little' is..... 6" square done over a weekend then left for 3 months, got a life and a trouble and strife I've being doing this car 3 years, and I wonder who they sell this stuff to if isn't people like me, when a royal command is shouted out can you help me in the garden I can throw a bit this on.
