Backpack for carrying welding mask

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced backpack or other bag/case for storing a mask and maybe a set of tig and mig gloves, so they don't get damaged in the back of the van? I freelance (garage work) and the standard of some of the welding PPE is a joke really, so I carry my own. Don't use it often, but don't want stuff damaged.

I'd think along the lines of an aluminium equipment case (plenty cheap from time to time on ebay) or a Pelican case (plenty not cheap, all the time).

Some manufacturers of said kit also supply kit bags, have you had a look?

That oxford bike helmet bag looks like good value.

ESAB papr bag - £30-£36 ish. not bad, I have one, but not amazing.

3M kit bag - pretty good but a bit cramped

Optrel kit bag (not the backpack one) - best I've seen. £80 new, but they come up for sale cheap on ebay.

I use a really useful box... big enough to keep a mask and a few other bits of PPE in.

I found an IKEA shopping bag to be a good cover for my Tig welder.

That is cool. I wonder if you could modify it (flap with velro?) so the carrying handle of the machine is accessible.

As we are talking repurposed stuff, this weekend I acquired a broken one of those elastic garden hoses. It is a stretchy rubber hose inside a tough nylon outer sheath. Would be good for a TIG torch cover. The inner hose is similar to surgical tubing, which can be used for binding up things when gluing and when standard clamps do not fit.

How about one of these? It’s got a hard base so will offer more protection than a soft bag (and stands up on its own!) and probably takes more bits and pieces.

I got one a couple of months bag as a general tool bag and really rate it.
