Anyone recognise this brass fitting- restrictor?

This is a gas jet holder on a catering appliance.


Brass body
1/4" bsp female to 1/4" bsp male
Round body with 2 flats (18mm a/f)

It looks like a simple extension piece except the male end is internally threaded 1BA (to hold the jet)

So basically I need a 1/4" extension but with a bore of 4.5mm or less then I can drill/tap myself.
(I guess this is what the oem did)

I've seen similar used as flow restrictors but struggling to find a supplier for one the same as this?

I've got some extension nipples but, as supplied, the internal through hole is too big to tap for the gas jet.
I could look for bigger gas jets I suppose..

Did think about fitting a blanking plug and then drilling/tapping that but it's probably not much more work to just make the whole thing..

Not sure.
It's commercial catering equipment. I'd guess they make hundreds a year rather than thousands so it may be they make it themselves. They sell spares but want £50 for that bit..

Looks like the original o/d on a bit of brass bar. I'd expect a mass-produced cnc part to be turned on all faces so maybe they are making them themselves?

I was just hoping there was something common I could modify rather than having to find kit to cut 1/4 threads as well. .

It was the raw OD and the two flats rather than a hex that made me think it wasn't a mass produced part.

Can you get the same jet in a non-1BA thread? It is the jet thread which is the stumbling block right now.

It may be easier and cheaper to buy the extension, tap a small piece of brass bar 1BA and solder it in. You could ream the extension and press fit the jet holder.

Can you buy a 1/4" BSP female to 1/8" BSP male extension (it would have a smaller bore at the 1/8" end) and then screw onto it a 1/8" BSP female to 1/4" BSP male bush?
